Rebuilding Cabrillo’s Library After a Flood

When storms flooded Cabrillo Elementary last year, they did more than damage buildings—they destroyed the school’s early reading collection, leaving a critical gap at the heart of campus.

With her shelves emptied, Ms. Marissa, the school’s Library Technician, reached out to the San Pedro Education Foundation for help.

Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we were able to step in with a grant to help rebuild.

Today, that library is growing again—restocked with more than 100 brand-new early reader books. These aren’t just books. They’re the spark of imagination. The tools of literacy. The start of something bigger for San Pedro’s youngest learners.

This is the kind of impact that our donor’s support makes possible.

Thank you for believing in our students—and for helping us turn challenges into opportunities for growth.
