School Project Grants

Have an idea that could make a real difference for students at your school? We want to help make it happen.

San Pedro Education Foundation School Project Grants provide funding for programs, projects and resources that directly benefit students in San Pedro public schools. These grants are designed to help teachers, staff and students move good ideas forward when traditional school funding is limited or unavailable.

We support practical, student-centered projects that strengthen learning and create opportunities across areas including STEM, arts, entrepreneurship, health and wellness, workforce development and other needs identified by our local schools.

Who Can Apply

  • Teachers and staff at public schools serving the San Pedro community.
  • Students working with the support and approval of their school.
  • Projects must directly benefit students and be connected to a San Pedro public school.

What We Look For

We prioritize projects with a clear purpose, a realistic plan and a direct benefit to students. Funding may be used to launch a new program, strengthen an existing one, purchase needed materials or bring an opportunity to students that might not otherwise be possible.

Applicants receiving funding are asked to provide photos of the completed or active project and complete an appreciation acknowledgment so we can show our community where its support is going.

How to Apply

  1. Tell us about your project. Prepare a brief proposal describing the project, where it will take place, who it will serve and how students will benefit.
  2. Provide your contact information. Include the name, phone number, email address and physical address of the person submitting the request.
  3. Give us the timeline. Let us know when the project is expected to begin and end.
  4. Include a clear budget. Provide the total amount requested and a breakdown of how the funds will be used. If additional funding is needed, tell us where it will come from.
  5. Get school approval. Staff members and students must have their school principal complete and sign the San Pedro Education Foundation School Project Grant Application.
  6. Submit your request. Send the proposal and completed application to [email protected].

How Funding Decisions Are Made

School Project Grant requests are reviewed by the San Pedro Education Foundation board. We consider the number of students served, the potential impact of the project, the clarity of the budget and how well the request addresses a need or opportunity at the school.

Our goal is to keep the process local, responsive and straightforward so strong ideas can move from a classroom or campus need to something students can actually experience.
